blogging live from bitfilm
First impressions from the bitfilm festival include a raised awareness in machinima, a very well accepted program this year and a nice and chilling location.
Tomorrow's panel adresses the convergence of movies and games. Klaus Neumann and myself are performing a live in-game "what is machinima?" show (stay tuned for a download) and Axel Schmidt will present a making of his all famous "Peacemaker" machinima movie, the winner of last year's bitfilm festival created together with rodrigo olmos (whom we still hope to see here as well!).
The bitfilm festivals, now in its sixth year was the first european new media festival to include machinima as part of their competition program.
They're showing movies in categories like 3D animation, mixed Visual Effects, VJing, realtime demos or even films for mobile phones.
The award ceremony is being held on sunday at about 8 pm. As soon as the winners are announced, you're going to read about them here.
Visitors can vote for their favorite movies by cellphone using text messages. Voting started yesterday and will stop a couple of hours before the winners are announced.
